Walmart’s New RFID RequirementsÂ
Walmart has issued new RFID guidelines for suppliers in the electronics and home departments. The mandate requires labeling products with an RFID inlay, specifically in the following departments: Home departments – Entertainment departments – Hardlines departments – tires, and batteries. Walmart expects all suppliers to comply with the mandate. Suppliers must tag their products with a Gen 2 UF RFID tag operating at a frequency of 902-928 megahertz. The dimensions of the tags vary depending on the goods offered.
